DAYS 1-2: Arrival in Munich, Tour Director-led Walking Tours, Welcome Reception
Arrival in Munich
As your flight descends over Bavaria, you’re greeted with views of Munich’s iconic red rooftops and the snow-capped Alps in the distance. Upon arrival at Munich International Airport, you will be met by Passports staff and transferred to your hotel, ideally located near the city center. Take a moment to settle in and soak in the energy of this vibrant, historic city.
Tour Director-led Walking Tours
Potential Walking Tour of Munich’s Old Town
Step into the heart of Munich with a leisurely walking tour through its historic Altstadt (Old Town). Wander through Marienplatz, the city’s lively central square, where the famous Glockenspiel chimes and dances from the New Town Hall. Stroll past Viktualienmarkt, a bustling food market, and admire the medieval charm of Sendlinger Strasse.
Welcome Reception
This evening, join Passports staff and fellow group leaders for a warm and engaging welcome reception. Enjoy a selection of Bavarian delicacies, engage in lively conversations, and network with fellow educators.

Group Leader Training Conference
Whether you are a seasoned group leader or new to student travel, our group leader training conference offers an invaluable opportunity to network with other educators and learn from their experiences. Attendees can plan for tips and insights into all aspects of leading a tour, such as itinerary planning, group management, and best practices for leading international educational tours. Connect with other educators, share experiences, and learn strategies for ensuring a smooth and enriching tour for your students.

An exploration of the BMW Welt & Museum, a must-visit for car enthusiasts and lovers of German engineering.

A full-day excursion is planned for today, but the destination is still to be determined. This will be a unique opportunity to step outside of Munich and experience more of Bavaria’s historical, cultural, or scenic highlights.
Possible Excursion Ideas:
A day trip to Neuschwanstein Castle & Linderhof Palace, exploring the fairytale-like castle of King Ludwig II and his luxurious Alpine retreat.
A visit to Salzburg, Austria, where you can discover Mozart’s birthplace and the stunning Baroque architecture that inspired The Sound of Music.
A visit to Andechs Monastery, famous for its historic brewery and Baroque architecture. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Bavarian Alps from the monastery hilltop.
The excursion selection will be finalized as the conference approaches, ensuring a memorable and logistically smooth experience for the entire group.
